Bismillahhirrahmanirrahim.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and greetings of peace.

I am very pleased and welcome all of you to the official website of the Center for Core Studies (PPT), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) with a warm welcome, ahlan wa sahlan wa marhaban bikum.

PPT is one of the Responsibility Centers (PTj) at USIM, functioning to provide comprehensive academic development and reinforcement services to students. There are two units under PPT’s management: the University Compulsory Courses Unit (UKWU) as stipulated in the General Studies subjects (MPU) by the Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM) and the USIM Compulsory Courses Unit (UKWUSIM).

PPT offers University Compulsory (WU) courses to undergraduate students to develop balanced and harmonious individuals intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically (JERI) based on faith and obedience to God. This aligns with the nation’s aspirations to achieve the five objectives of Malaysian society based on the five principles of the Rukun Negara. PPT plays an important role through the offering of core or WU courses integrated into the study program structure of each undergraduate student at USIM.

In addition to offering WU courses, PPT is also responsible for organizing and managing several programs and publications such as Iqra’@PPT, Daurah Kitab Turath, the International Conference on Civilization, Ethnic, and Islamic Heritage (i-STET), the Seminar and Creative Product Exhibition (SPARK), and the Journal of Human Sciences (JSI).

Finally, it is hoped that the information displayed on this website will provide a comprehensive overview of PPT’s efforts to produce excellent students both in this world and the hereafter, in line with USIM’s motto: Knowledgeable, Disciplined, and Pious. Visitors can also obtain the latest information, announcements, and activities of PPT through the Center for Core Studies’s Facebook page and Instagram (IG) usim_ppt.

Before concluding this greeting, I invite everyone to reflect on and practice the wisdom of the late Raja Ali Haji (1808-1873), a Malay scholar and poet, in his Gurindam Dua Belas:

God knows best, thank you.

Peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings, and greetings of peace.
